With his extensive experience as a former registered nurse in hospital perioperative surgical care and critical care units both in Corpus Christi and San Antonio, Texas, Nurse Practitioner Randy Ramirez, RN, MSN, AGACNP-BC is perfectly suited-and perfectly happy-to be the newest member of Texas Transplant Physician Group's Transplant Hepatology team where he will care for hospitalized patients at Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital, a campus of Methodist Hospital. "I have always been interested in internal medicine and surgery. I've always wanted to work for a major hospital system, and transplant hepatology is a fascinating field where we can improve a patients quality of life and even give them back their life through transplantation," says Randy who sees this opportunity as both challenging and rewarding. Randy has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from University of Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. He worked predominantly with the South Texas Veterans Health Care System (STVHCS) until he decided to pursue a Master of Science in Nursing degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio where he graduated with high honors as an adult-gerontological acute care nurse practitioner.
