About Pediatric Specialists of Texas

At Pediatric Specialists of Texas, we are dedicated to providing the highest level of service and care possible for our patients. Our practice takes a collaborative approach to diagnosing, treating and managing our patients’ special medical needs from infancy to young adulthood. Patients benefit from our creation of pediatric subspecialty teams, including hematology/oncology, neurosurgery, congenital heart surgery and gastroenterology.

Compassion and communication help us as we support patients, family and caregivers – as everyone copes differently with a cancer diagnosis and treatment. Family-based, interactive care helps us treat the child, not the cancer. And we understand the importance of ongoing dialogue with the patient, family and referring providers. We strive to maintain open communication throughout a patient’s journey with us. Same week appointments, coordinated inpatient and outpatient care, and parent/patient education all assist families as they manage the health of their loved one.

Our subspecialty teams

  • The Pediatric Hematology/Oncology team provides expertise in the diagnostic and therapeutic care for patients with cancers and blood disorders. Our bilingual and highly experienced team partners with world-renowned organizations, such as Children’s Oncology Group, NCI Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) and Sarah Cannon Blood Cancer Network, to bring the most advanced treatment options possible to patients.
  • Our Pediatric Gastroenterology team cares for infants, children and adolescents with digestive system, liver, and nutritional problems in a caring and compassionate setting. Using the most innovative methods and techniques, they evaluate and offer treatment for a variety of pediatric disorders, including chronic abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, failure to gain weight, feeding problems, constipation or dietary issues.
  • The Congenital Heart Surgery team is dedicated to treating complex congenital (present at birth) cardiac and thoracic diseases, from prenatal diagnosis through adulthood. We provide optimal care using state-of-the-art technology for children and adults with cardiac diseases and anomalies, and we offer results that rank among the best in the United States. The team works with a multi-disciplinary team of experienced pediatric cardiologists and surgeons at the Methodist Children’s Heart Institute.
  • Our Pediatric Neurosurgery program is a comprehensive and interdisciplinary program specializing in the surgical treatments of brain and spinal disorders in children from the prenatal period to late adolescence. Our group welcomes expectant mothers with a prenatal diagnosis of central nervous system malformation for neonates, infants, children and adolescents. Actively involved in clinical research, our team works with Children's Oncology Group (COG) and International Bone Marrow Transplant Consortium, and is a member of the Hydrocephalus and Spina Bifida Associations.
