Raymond's Story

Diagnosed with a Klatskin tumor (hilar cholangiocarcinoma), Raymond underwent surgery to remove it, along with his gallbladder and three-quarters of his liver to prevent the spread of cancer. Raymond’s wife Vera never left his side during his hospital stay. “Dr. Bathla was always there to answer questions and since neither one of us had experienced cancer before, he explained things in a way we could understand,” says Vera. Raymond is back driving a truck and feeling great despite a long recovery. “It’s a blessing to get to live as long as possible, but things like cancer happen. Without Dr. Bathla, his knowledge and his skilled hands, I would not be here,” he says.
